Samuel Adams :: What is the trinity?

  • “The doctrine of the Trinity properly begins with the reflection and the church’s witness of what God has done for us through Jesus Christ,” answers Samuel Adams, PhD, Mennonite Pastor, Assistant Professor of Theology & Social Justice and Director of Graduate Studies at Kilns College. The church had to learn a new way to talk about God as they realized that God had become a human and as the Holy Spirit was sent. The solution to this new reality was the concept of the Trinity. “The doctrine of the Trinity emerges as a way, almost a grammar, of how we properly speak about God.”
