Nicholas Wolterstorff :: Do people need art?

  • “When you have an expanded view of art, then it becomes clear it’s some sort of human necessity,” explains Dr. Nicholas Wolterstorff, philosopher and Noah Porter Emeritus Professor of Philosophical Theology at Yale University. Art is not reserved solely for those with leisure time. There is a place for art in every facet of life: work, play, protest, worship. “Art pervades our lives . . . it enhances ordinary life.”
