Michael Badriaki :: How did you progress from “social” justice to “servant” justice?

  • “I have been on the receiving end of these social justice-motivated innovations,” says Michael Badriaki, who works for Medical Teams International (MTI) and is a native of Uganda, “which I think are really socio-corporate responsibilities.” While the organizations that ministered to Michael had pure motives, their coldness and business-like way of operating failed to reach him at a human level. “There was always a deficit of relational empathy, because I was always the African that was different from the American.” Out of that frustration, Michael began researching and learning more about the missionary movement and how he could be a part of positively changing it. “If the missionary came to Africa in the name of Jesus, and could not relate with me as an equal…then I always wondered what kind of Christianity that was.”
