“Let’s get rid of the emphasis on money and prestige,” says Melissa McCreery, Vice President of Development at Kilns College in Bend, OR. Education should be driven by a student’s passion, not their desire for a career or money. Doctors and lawyers should be studying medicine and law because they’re excited about those fields and they care about saving lives and justice and truth. “Let’s make sure you’re not doing it for the money and for the prestige, because that’s not going to be very fulfilling eventually.” The hospital or courtroom should be the mission field, not the means to obtaining a second home.
