“The thought here is going to come back to the very essence of faith, you’re going to believe in something you can’t see,” says Luke Hendrix, Executive Pastor at Imago Dei Community in Portland, OR. Even as Christians we experience trying times in our lives which caused emotional distress, although looking back you may see those specific events as growing points in your life.
“When it comes down to it, we’re going to have to believe in Jesus’s ability not ours.” We must allow ourselves to become completely vulnerable in God who commanded us to make disciples of all the nations. When we’re in the midst of these traumatizing events, it may look seem like our world is ending. “There’s a bigger story and I’m trusting Jesus who said ‘go make disciples’ and we’re getting it done.”
