Leroy Barber :: How do we interact with people whose beliefs and prejudices seem non-negotiable?

  • “Our relationships have to grow deeper,” says Leroy Barber, Author, President of Mission Year and CEO of FCS Urban Ministries. “I think when I’ve run into issues of non-negotiables…is where I see less relationship.” If our beliefs are never challenged, it’s easy for us to become and remain dogmatic. But when our beliefs have to enter the real world, where there are messy, hurting people, we are faced with the complexity of injustice and suffering and our prejudices often melt away. “You become more human.”
