Ken Wytsma :: Is the “I stand at the door and knock” verse about salvation?

  • “That phrase “Behold, I stand at the door and knock,” more than any other verse, is where we developed in the last 150 years the language of ‘accepting Jesus into our heart,’” says Ken Wytsma, President of Kilns College and Founder of The Justice Conference. “That language isn’t anywhere in scripture.” Revelation 3:20 has become an important evangelistic ‘salvation verse,’ so much so that it sometimes appears on the bottom of cups at In-N-Out. “I think sometimes we overdo salvation questions, because…we’re really looking for a formula.”
