Ken Wytsma :: Is lust still a sin if I don’t act on it?

  • “It’s a sin whether you act on it or dwell on it,” says Ken Wytsma, Pastor of Antioch Church in Bend, OR and Founder of The Justice Conference, but “the consequences for actually going through with adultery are infinitely greater than the private sin of committing adultery in your heart.” Private sins break our relationship with God, while public sins break both our relationship with God and our relationships with other people and community. “You lust in your heart but don’t act on it – it’s one half of a perfect storm, but because the half has to do with your relationship with God, you gotta do some business there and fix that.”
