Ken Wytsma :: In what way am I unique to God?

  • Uniqueness can be a difficult subject for Americans because our culture tells us that we were all born to be superstars. “I do think we are under this mistaken idea that we all have this unique and particular calling to do unique and amazing things and to change the world,” says Ken Wytsma, Pastor of Antioch Church in Bend, OR and Founder of The Justice Conference. “That’s really hard for us…because this is a celebrity-driven culture.” Take a look at church history and you’ll realize pretty quickly that not every Christian is called to be a superstar in shaping the future of Christianity or changing the world. But that doesn’t mean God doesn’t love us, and it certainly doesn’t mean God doesn’t like us as much as he likes other people.
