Ken Wytsma :: How do I set boundaries in abusive relationships?

  • “If you’re knit into relationship with family or coworkers or bosses, where it’s hard to extricate yourself all the way from that relationship…somehow, someway you have to deal with [it] head on,” says Ken Wytsma, President of Kilns College and Founder of The Justice Conference. “If you avoid it while you’re in it, it usually won’t change; it’ll only pick more and more steam.” The first step is usually finding wise counsel or a mentor who can help you prepare for a difficult conversation or confrontation. The key thing the abuser needs to understand is that regardless of their intent, your experience is one of torment and pain.
