Ken Wytsma :: Does prayer change God’s will?

  • People tend to be idealistic or fatalistic when it comes to prayer. Either we think that any prayer prayed with enough faith and conviction will get God to give us what we’re asking for, or we think that God is going to do what he wants, and praying or asking him for something is a waste of time. The truth seems to like somewhere between the two. “God is a relational being; Jesus says ‘ask for things in my name,’” says Ken Wytsma, Founder of The Justice Conference and Pastor of Antioch Church in Bend, OR. “We pray, like Jesus, ‘not my will but yours be done.’”
