Ken Wytsma :: Are we interpreting scripture our culture’s way?

  • “The word literal is problematic when coming to the scriptures,” states Ken Wytsma, President of Kilns College and Founder of The Justice Conference. The difficulty is in the difference between what scripture ‘literally’ means to us and what it was literally intended to mean by the original authors. Debate about that original intent can cause disunity in the Church. Therefore, it is important to remember that “those tension points don’t affect the major core doctrines of salvation that we see in scripture.”
