Keith Wright :: What do relief organizations usually need? Money? Labor?

  • “We’ve got a lot of needs,” says Keith Wright, International President of Food for the Hungry. “Resources are always a need…we’ve all, in our own ways, had to deal with a pretty rough economy the last few years.” In general, there’s significant relational value in people committing to regular financial contribution, rather than writing one big check.

The other need is global awareness. Short-term trips to the third world – while not necessarily effective relief efforts – help to further people’s understanding of global issues and personally engage them in a lifetime of justice work.
