H.D. Weddel :: Should I let my kids fail sometimes?

  • “Sometimes we’ve got to let them fail, and that’s really hard for us – but that’s really where they learn,” says H.D. Weddel, High School Principal and Chaplain of the Oregon State University Football Team. It is better to have kids fail when they can receive support from their parents rather than waiting until they fail away from home and have no one to turn to. It is also important to focus on the details before they snowball into major family problems. “Let them fail, and then work through it.”
