Gerry Breshears :: Receiving the Holy Spirit (Acts 8)

  • “I think…this is a historically unique situation, because this is the first time the Gospel goes to Samaritans,” explains Dr. Gerry Breshears, Professor of Theology at Western Seminary and Co-author with Mark Driscoll of several popular books on doctrine and the church. God appears to deliberately withhold the Holy Spirit in order to promote unity between Jewish and non-Jewish communities, essentially waiting until the time is right. “I think God works in different ways for different people.”
