Gerry Breshears :: How does free will work if God exists outside of time?

  • “I don’t know, because the Bible doesn’t tell me how God knows things, it tells me that He does know things,” describes Dr. Gerry Breshears, Author and Professor of Theology at Western Seminary. There are two common views, a Calvinistic view that says everything is a part of God’s omniscient decree, and an Arminian view that teaches that God knows what choices people will make but He honors free choice. Putting God outside of time doesn’t help me with the issue of free will. “Where the scripture is silent, my inclination is to be silent for a moment and then say, ‘it seems to be that, maybe’; that’s a different approach to things.”
