Gerry Breshears :: How are we supposed to “forgive and forget”?

  • How do we just “forget” an offense? Dr. Gerry Breshears, Author and Professor of Theology at Western Seminary, says that while it is impossible to truly forget an offense, instead we should simply “not remember.” “To remember is to bring it actively to mind so that our behavior is shaped,” Dr. Gerry Breshears says. Forgiveness is to give up a right for revenge and create in ourselves a commitment to move past being wronged.
