“Restoration is more about the here and now. Redemption is more about the then and there,” according to Bo Stern, Pastor of Interns and Life Groups at Westside Church in Bend, OR. “God is about both.” The American church tends to focus on things that American culture values: immediate, felt needs and desires, rather than deep, eternal truth. “I don’t know that the American church is as focused on heaven as we ought to be.”
